Sanwo-Olu’s wife attributes doctor’s death, aircraft crash to ‘arrow fired’

Ibironke Sanwo-Olu, Lagos first lady, has attributed the tragic death of a medical doctor, Diaso Vwaere, in an elevator to “arrow fired into health family.”
“An arrow has been fired into the health family. First of August is a day I will never forget,” Mrs Sanwo-Olu said, reacting to the tragic incidence in a viral video.
Linking the incident to an aircraft that crashed at Oba Akran Road, Ikeja, on the same day, Mrs Sanwo-Olu said, “the same day a helicopter crashed, the same day a lift dropped down. How? How? How?”
Ms Vwaere, a medical house officer with the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos, died after an elevator at the hospital, Lagos Island, crashed from the 10th floor to the ground floor.
The female medical practitioner was said to have been rushed to an emergency ward of the hospital for treatment but was confirmed dead on arrival.
In protest, Lagos chapter of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) directed the doctors at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos Island Maternity Hospital and Massey Street Children’s Hospital to embark on indefinite strike until investigations into the cause of the death were completed and justice served.
Mrs Sanwo-Olu’s attribution of the tragic incidence to ‘arrow fired’, has sparked criticism from outraged Nigerians, many who believed the first lady is downplaying serious issues that calls for investigations.
