Football coach allegedly butchers estranged lover in Ondo

Bankole Oginni, a 45-year-old football coach, has been arrested for allegedly killing his estranged lover, identified as Bose, in Ondo state.
Mr Oginni, also known as ‘honourable Kole’, was nabbed by the police at his residence in the Oke Aro Area of Ondo capital, Akure.
The suspect, who is now in police custody, was said to have invited the deceased to his apartment at Danjuma, in the Oke Aro Area and allegedly poured hot water on her.
Peoples Gazette learnt that Mr Oginni allegedly tied the deceased with a rope before butchering her.
The suspect was, however, arrested by the police after the mobile line of the deceased was no longer connecting.
Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Ondo police spokesperson, confirmed the incident in a statement issued to journalists in Akure.
Mrs Odunlami-Omisanya revealed that a deceased friend reported the case to the B Divisional Police Station in Oke Aro, which led to the suspect’s arrest.
She added that the lifeless body of the deceased was found inside the suspect’s room with her leg and hands tied and her body open with intestines removed.
She further explained that patches on the deceased’s body showed signs of hot water burns, stressing that her remains had been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
