Intending 2024 hajj pilgrims in Plateau must deposit N4.5 million each with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The Plateau Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board stated in Jos on Friday that the money was the amount approved for Plateau pilgrims by NAHCON.

Its spokesman, Namu Sanusi, stated that the final fare would be announced in due course.

According to him, NAHCON allocated 1,345 slots to the states and assured of prioritising those who missed the 2023 hajj.

“The board hereby directs intending pilgrims from Plateau to pay N4.5 million only, pending when the final fares will be announced by NAHCON.

“The acting executive secretary of the board, Aisha Saleh, urged intending pilgrims to make their deposits promptly to enable the board to make remittances to NAHCON,’’ Mr Sanusi stated.
