Lagos restates commitment to boosting water supply for residents

The Lagos State Water Corporation (LWC), on Tuesday, reassured residents of its commitment to boosting water supply in the state.
Mukhtaar Tijani, the managing director of LWC, gave this assurance in a statement made available to journalists in Lagos.
Mr Tijani mentioned that the state government was strategically investing in building safe drinking water systems in the state.
“These investments call for a thorough review of operational procedures to ensure sustainability,” he said.
He also assured residents that the corporation’s outdated equipment would be revamped to meet the current need for potable water.
“We are committed to ensuring a safe, quality water supply service to every household and business in our areas of operation.
“Our existing production facilities and the associated water supply distribution networks will be aggregated to improve efficiency and reduce water losses due to leakages.
“This will expand our reach to under-served areas within our community, allowing residents to have improved access to reliable water supply.
“In this regard, LWC solicits the support, assistance, and cooperation of our esteemed customers through prompt payment of bills as we work diligently to serve them better.”
