Akeredolu’s aide ignorant for saying we can’t demand Ondo governor’s whereabouts: PDP

The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo has described Doyin Odebowale, an aide to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, as “ignorant” for abusing those demanding information about his boss’ whereabouts.
On Tuesday, Mr Odebowale stated that the main opposition PDP cannot compel Mr Akeredolu to come out and address the people of the state or resign from his position as governor.
The governor’s aide, who appeared on Channels Television, also mentioned that Mr Akeredolu was facing accommodation challenges, which is why he continues to stay in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state.
He further added that those residents seeking information about his whereabouts are merely mischief makers.
This came after protesters from the opposition PDP issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Mr Akeredolu, demanding that he either address the people of the state or resign within three days.
In a swift response on Wednesday, the PDP released a statement reacting to Mr Odebowale’s illogical argument regarding the continued absence of Mr Akeredolu from the state.
The party, in the statement signed by their spokesperson, Kennedy Peretei, declared that it was an indication of ignorance for Mr Odebowale to assert that the opposition party has no right to inquire about Akeredolu’s whereabouts.
“On any other day, it might have been unnecessary to respond to Doyin Odebowale’s illogical argument about why Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has not been seen in Ondo State, because, he who drums for a madman is himself insane.
“However, to claim that the PDP has no right to inquire about the Governor’s whereabouts is a sign of his ignorance regarding the expectations of a Governor who has been absent for more than six months,” Mr Peretei stated in the statement, which was obtained by Peoples Gazette.
