NSCDC commandant general Ahmed Audi says continuous review of Nigeria’s security strategies would foster positive results in the fight against insecurity.

Mr Audi said in a statement issued on Tuesday by the civil defence’s spokesman, Babawale Afolabi, there should also be more collaboration among security agencies to combat insecurity.

The NSCDC chief spoke at a seminar on ‘Interagency collaboration: Strengthening Security for a Safer Nigeria’ in Abuja, reiterating the importance of inter-agency partnership in ensuring effective protection of lives and properties.

Mr Audi said that with the ever-evolving nature of security challenges, no security agency could single-handedly fight the complexities of insecurity. He said there was a need to collectively generate resources and develop expertise to address the hydra-headed security threats in the country efficiently.

“The security challenges of our contemporary time are hydra-headed, demanding that we come together, pull resources and expertise to fight our common enemy,” he added.

Mr Audi said in the face of Nigeria’s diverse security threats, the corps recently conducted a seminar to proffer steps to achieving a safe country.

He explained that the seminar featured discussion on conflict analysis, professionalism, ethical standards, conflict resolution, management, transformation and the role of human rights in security.
