Catholic women donate food, other items to orphanage

The Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) of the Catholic Church of the Assumption, Asokoro, Abuja on Saturday, donated food items to Honour Ground Orphanage at Auta-Balefi in Nasarawa State.
Other items donated included toiletries, diapers, beverages, clothes, among others.
In a short speech at the ceremony, Amaka Ezeugo, president of the association, said the women of Asokoro had a list of orphanages to pick from from which God chose the benefiting Home.
She urged the management of the orphanage to ensure that the items were effectively used for the children.
She equally thanked the management for taking good care of the children.
The members of the association further supported the orphanage with N350,000 for the upkeep of the children.
Responding, Vivian Chibuike, the manager of the orphanage, thanked the women and revealed that the support was timely coming in when the orphanage was in dire need of support for feeding and upkeep.
The food items included two bags of rice, one bag each, of beans and maize, 100 tubers of yams and potatoes.
Others included half a bag of onions, cartons of indomie and two cartons of spaghetti.
The women also brought beverages, cartons of tomatoes, cartons of maggi, cartons of biscuits, one carton of groundnut oil, clothes, shoes and two cartons of tissues.
Others included school bags, toilet soap, detergent, among others.
