NSCDC decorates 371 promoted officers in Kaduna

Idris Adah, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps commandant in Kaduna, has charged its personnel to redouble their efforts in the fight against criminals in the state.
Mr Adah stated this at the decoration of 371 newly promoted officers held at the Kaduna command headquarters on Thursday.
He explained that promotion comes with enormous responsibilities, hence the need for the officers to brace up for the challenges ahead and be intentional in discharging their duties.
He also pointed out that the 371 newly promoted command officers were the highest recorded since its inception.
Mr Adah attributed the feat to the unwavering commitment of the Minister of Interior and the NSCDC commandant general in clearing the backlog of “overdue” officers.
“Promotion is a kind of reward for hard work. When you are doing well, you will be rewarded. And that is not to say that others are not doing their best, but we have the most hardworking ones, and those are the ones that were selected,” said Mr Adah.
Concerning the yuletide season, Mr Adah said the command sensitised and deployed over 2000 personnel in the 23 LGAs to ensure a hitch-free celebration.
He called on parents and guardians to prevail on their children and wards to avoid criminal activities, warning that anyone caught would face the full wrath of the law.
Mr Adah added, “A lot of these bad boys go out to see how they can make money to celebrate the yuletide, thereby doing unnecessary things. We will arrest them, detain them, investigate them and prosecute them accordingly.”
On synergy with sister security agencies in Kaduna, the commandant disclosed that the corps enjoyed a harmonious working relationship aimed at improving the security situation.
