The Deputy Commander, Women’s Wing, of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Kulthum Kassim, has counselled women to support their husbands, especially during Ramadan, as they struggled to bring food to their families.

The commander made the call, on Sunday, at a Ramadan lecture in Kano, noting that people were facing financial difficulties.

”I am making this call because we have been receiving cases where women have been mismanaging  food items brought by their husbands.

“There is a need for women to be considerate that their husbands, no matter their trades, need support”, she said.

Mrs Kassim further appealed to women to show empathy and manage whatever their husbands were able to provide for them, saying that women had always been known to be home managers not destroyers, thus they must be patient.

To the men, the commander charged them to avoid stinginess and provide sufficiently for their families and even neighbours, during the Holy month of Ramadan and beyond.
