Police arraign man for allegedly possessing AK-47 live ammunition

One Adamu Abdulahi, 33, was on Thursday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly possessing one AK 47 live ammunition.

Mr Abdulahi, of no fixed address, was charged with unlawful possession of live ammunition.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on October 26, at about 10:30 a.m. along Ojoo/Akinyele road, Ibadan.

Mr Amusan alleged that Abdulahi unlawfully had in his possession the live ammunition which he could not satisfactorily account for.

He said the defendant committed an offence contrary to the criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mr I. O. Olanipekun granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case until January 25, 2024 for hearing.
