Police say two Anambra gangsters killed, kidnap victim rescued
The police command in Anambra said it killed two gang members who killed two cops on Friday.
Police commissioner Aderemi Adeoye, who disclosed this in Awka on Monday, said the gangsters were killed during a raid of their camp in Ogboji in Orumba South LGA on Sunday.
Mr Adeoye said the police rescued a 51-year-old kidnap victim and recovered a Lexus SUV.
He said other items recovered were four improvised explosive devices (IEDs), two pump-action guns, and 16 live cartridges.
He said the IEDs had been defused.
Mr Adeoye said the manhunt for the assailants and every criminal element in the state would continue.
He restated the determination of the command to ensure the security of all and urged residents and holidaymakers in Anambra to go on with their lawful activities without fear.
