Three people have died in an accident involving an Iveco truck and a Cabster PickUp around Kara Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Disclosing this in a statement, the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps spokesperson, Florence Okpe, stated that the accident happened around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Ms Okpe said the accident resulted from overspeeding, which led to the vehicle losing control. She added that the late victims’ family members had taken away their bodies for burial.

She said four male adults were involved in the accident.

The statement read in part, “The fatal crash occurred at about 2300 hrs late last night, involving 02 vehicles with registration numbers AA414ZY Iveco truck and a Cabster pick-up ZUR 601ZY.

“Unfortunately, three persons were recorded dead and one person unhurt.

“The suspected cause of the crash was excessive speed, which led to loss of control and crash. The dead bodies were taken by family.”
