Gov. Aiyedatiwa dissolves Ondo cabinet

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dissolved the members of the State Executive Council.
Mr Aiyedatiwa, in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, said that the dissolution was with immediate effect.
The governor urged members of the cabinet to immediately hand over to the permanent secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices.
“Also, all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants are relieved of their duties, with immediate effect. All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government property in their possession. The governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the State,” a copy of the statement obtained by Peoples Gazette read.
The dissolution is coming barely three weeks after Mr Aiyedatiwa took over the power after the death of his principal, former governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Mr Akeredolu, who had been facing an underlying health condition, died on December 27, after battling prostate cancer.
The former governor would be buried by February 23, according to the burial programmes released by his family.
