Gov. Ododo tasks commissioners on good governance

Gov. Usman Ododo of Kogi has charged the state’s commissioners to give their best for the development of the state.
Mr Ododo said this during the swearing-in of 18 commissioners as members of the state executive council at the Government House, Lokoja.
“You must discharge your duties with utmost sincerity and commitment as servant leaders without fear or favour for the good of Kogi.
“You should know that you’re all carefully selected based on competence and ability to deliver. Therefore, you have no reason to fail.
“You are expected to hit the ground running for a new era of good governance.in You should be ready to discharge your duties creditably in our collective responsibility to move Kogi forward,” he said.
He pointed out that former Gov. Yahaya Bello had laid down the foundation for his administration to follow and consolidate on his achievements to further move the state to greater heights.
The governor thanked the good people of the state and other stakeholders for their unwavering support before, during and after the Nov 11 governorship election.
He urged the residents to be tolerant and unite in the interest of peaceful coexistence and progress.
“Kogi is blessed with enormous potential, which can only be harnessed if the citizens are living as one indivisible entity,” he said.
Responding on behalf of other commissioners, Salami Ozigi-Deedat thanked the governor for the confidence reposed on them to serve under his administration.
He assured of their loyalty, commitment and transparency in all their activities as members of the state executive council.
