Ahead of Nigeria’s crucial quarter-final game against Angola, Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro says he expects a tough game on Friday.

At the pre-match press conference in Abidjan on Thursday, the Super Eagles gaffer admitted that the Palancas Negras of Angola are a good team.

“It is one match, a quarter-final. Both teams want to reach the semifinals. It will be a tough match. We will play with maximum demand, like a good team and be happy,” Peseiro told reporters.

He added, “They (Angola) are no big name but they are a very good team.”

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi agreed with the coach.

“We have watched videos. We are trying to know how to explore their weaknesses,” said Iwobi. “The coach has said it is going to be a tough game. We are prepared to do what we have to do.”

The former Arsenal star acknowledged the scoring prowess of the Angolans but expressed confidence in his teammates to cage them on Friday.

“We know they have scored a lot of goals, but I have confidence in my team that we will be able to withstand any pressure from them,” Iwobi stressed.
