IG deploys new spokespersons to commands, formations

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the posting of new spokespersons and public relations liaison officers to selected commands and formations.

A statement on Friday by the force spokesman, Ani Iniedu, said the new postings were to strengthen strategic communications, improve public access to credible police information and enhance engagement with the media and other stakeholders.

He said Johnson A. Doghudje, a superintendent of police, was posted as the spokesperson for Zone 5, while Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji is for Zone 11, Osogbo.

According to Mr Iniedu, Orchia Adndongu, a deputy superintendent of police, was posted to the Benue State police command, while Imah Unwana Victor was assigned under National Cybercrime Centre.

He noted that Abdulaziz Maharazu, an assistant superintendent of police, was posted to the police academy, while Yusuf Adamu Aliyu is for the Yobe State police command.

Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi was posted as Public Relations Liaison Officer for the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Gombe State.

Mr Disu charged the officers to uphold professionalism, accuracy and responsiveness in the discharge of their duties.
