NPFL: Enugu Rangers defeat Akwa United 1-0

Enugu Rangers International Football Club on Sunday defeated Akwa United FC 1-0 in the matchday 20 of the Nigeria Professional Football League 2023/24 season.
The match played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu saw Rangers miss several scoring chances like their Akwa United counterparts.
The first half of the encounter ended goalless as both teams. .
On resumption of the second half, Kenneth Igboke put Rangers ahead with a direct shot from outside the 18 yard box.
Akwa United was awarded a penalty in the 60th minute but lost it.
Efforts by Rangers to increase the score failed likewise Akwa United’s attempt to equalise.
Speaking to journalists after the match, Chief Coach of Rangers, Dani Suleiman, described the performance of his team as not encouraging but thanked God that they picked the maximum points.
“Akwa United is a good team, they played well but I am happy that we won,” he said.
