Chelsea Football Club has set up an all English Final of the UEFA Champions League after defeating Spain’s Real Madrid 2-0 taking, the aggregate to 3-1 in the semifinal game Wednesday night.

German striker Timo Werner broke the deadlock in the 28th minute with an header in front of the net after a Kai Harvertz lobbed shot rebounded off the bar leaving Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtios in no man’s land.

That goal was Werner’s 4th Champions League goal and his 13th in all competitions this season.

Los Blancos forced Edouard Mendy to a couple of saves in the first half with Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and Vinicius Jr testing the Senegalese goalkeeper with stinging shots.

N’golo Kante once again bossed the midfield alongside Jorginho leaving Real’s veteran midfielders; Kroos, Modric and Casemiro in his wake.

Mason Mount compounded Zidane boys’ woes in the 85th minute after firing home a scintillating square passfrom substitute Christian Pulisic to take the scoreline to 2-0.

Chelsea had won the first leg of the fixture ended 1-1 in Santiago Bernabeu with Christian Pulisic and Karim Benzema on target.

Thomas Tuchel has now recorded 18 clean sheets out of 24 games he has managed for the Blues while taking them to the FA Cup Final and the UEFA Champions League Final.

Real Madrid were 20 matches unbeaten before this loss to Chelsea having only conceded twice in those 20 games.

Earlier in the other semi final fixture, Manchester City booked their first ever Champions League final berth by defeating Paris Saint Germain 2-0, winning overall with a 4-1 aggregate over two legs.

Riyadh Mahrez scored a brace to secure the 2-0 victory for City in a match that also saw Ruben Diaz and Phil Foden receive some spotlight moments.

The final in Istanbul on May 29 will be a reminiscence of the all-England 2008 Moscow final between Chelsea and Manchester United which was won by the Red Devils via penalties.
