Nollywood actors Charles Inojie and Ali Nuhu, are using their platforms to raise awareness about domestic violence.

In videos shared via their Instagram handles, Messrs Inojie and Nuhu witnessed domestic violence in a restaurant and were in a dilemma of whether to intervene or ignore the situation.

During a recent conversation, Nuhu said, “Make we just mind our own business”. In response, Inojie said, “Evil thrives when good men keep quiet.” He shared a perspective that resonates with the idea that silence can enable wrongdoing.

He stated that it was important for individuals of good character to speak out against evil.

They come together and collectively make a noise in the restaurant to demonstrate their disapproval and take a stand against violence.

The hashtag #MakeWeHalla is an invitation to bystanders, urging them to take a stand against domestic violence by showing their opposition.

Mr Inojie emphasised that domestic violence is a bad practice that occurs all across and it is unacceptable.

In a statement when asked about their collaboration, Mr Inojie stated, “Partner violence is prevalent across Nigeria, yet silence persists. Make We Halla aims to break this silence, asserting that such violence is intolerable. Together, our voices resonate louder.”

Mr Nuhu added, “From North to South, domestic abuse persists, and silence only emboldens the perpetrators. Every instance of silence empowers the abuser. This is why action is imperative.”
