Big Brother introduces fresh format for new season

Season nine of the popular reality show BBNaija will have a different twist, according to the show’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu. He announced this on his Instagram page on Thursday, saying that the auditions are now open until April 20, 2024.

Ebuka explained that contestants need to participate with a partner instead of auditioning solo.

“Are you a part of a dynamic duo (a couple, friends, siblings, parent and child, twins, colleagues, whatever.)? Auditions are now open until April 20, 2024,” the show host wrote.

Diddy’s LA and Miami homes raided by authorities in sex trafficking probe

American rapper Sean Diddy Combs’ residences in Los Angeles and Miami, were raided by law enforcement officials in connection with a sex trafficking investigation. 

According to reports from TMZ, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles and HSI Miami, executed the actions as part of an ongoing probe.

The investigation comes amid past accusations against Diddy, including lawsuits filed by Cassandra Ventura and Joie Dickerson-Neal alleging sexual abuses and a recent legal battle involving allegations of pressuring individuals into sexual acts in exchange for Grammy recognition.

AMVCA announces nominees for 2024 edition

Africa Magic, in partnership with Multichoice, has revealed the nominees for the tenth Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, which will be held on May 11 at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos State. 

The nominations were announced via Africa Magic’s official Instagram handle. 

Notably, there’s a change in the selection process for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress categories, as winners will now be chosen by a jury instead of public votes.

 This year’s contenders include films like Mami Wata, Jagun Jagun, Over the Bridge, A Tribe Called Judah, and The Black Book.

Actor Amaechi Munuagor dies at 62

Nollywood mourns the loss of Amaechi Muonagor, who died at 62 due to kidney failure. His death comes days after that of his colleague John Okafor, known as Mr Ibu.

Muonagor had been seeking funds online following a stroke he suffered.

Social commentator Morris Monye confirmed the news of Muonagor’s death and emphasised the need for improved healthcare.
