Eid-el-Fitr: Gov Mbah urges Muslims to uphold peace

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has urged Muslim faithful to uphold the virtues of peace, love and tolerance as they celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Mr Mbah, who made the call in his Eid-el-Fitr message on Wednesday in Enugu, said that the period should be used to pray for sustained unity and development in the country.
”Let us uphold the lessons of Ramadan, such as love, tolerance, and perseverance. This will help us move the nation forward.
”The virtues of self-sacrifice, love, peace, unity, leniency, and kindness that Islam stands for are critical values that should be embraced,” he said.
The governor congratulated Muslims in the state for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
He reiterated his administration’s resolve to take critical steps towards the sustainable development of the state.
Mr Mbah appreciated the Muslim community in Enugu State for their support to his administration.
”We shall continue to work with every stakeholder to make the state a preferred place for investment, tourism and living,” he said.
The governor urged the people of the state and Nigerians at large to be hopeful and prayerful in the face of the current economic challenges.
”Let us be confident and prayerful. I am sure that things will turn around very soon,” he said.
