Ruger explains reasons for leaving Jonzing world
Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ruger, during the week opened up about what influenced his decision to leave his former record label, Jonzing World.
The singer tweeted on Thursday that the label, headed by D’Prince, focused more on profits from his career than promoting his work or helping him reach new opportunities.
Nonetheless, Ruger appreciated Jonzing World’s role in his career.
He tweeted, “As much as I’m very appreciative of the fact that Jonzing World introduced me to the world, I just couldn’t continue with them because they got too comfortable with the money they were making from me and couldn’t push me further, as I wanted to be pushed.” The singer said that despite plans to renegotiate, he could only envision another five years with the proactive support he desired.
