Junior Pope: Police recover three more bodies of movie cast after boat capsized
The marine operatives of the police command in Anambra have recovered the three bodies of the remaining members of the movie cast involved in a boat crash.
The command’s spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a press release shared on the command’s official X handle on Friday.
“Two of the bodies were recovered yesterday 11th April, 2024 while the last was washed in by the tide this morning. All the bodies have been deposited in a hospital mortuary in Asaba while the President of the Guild of Actors and Actresses has been notified of the recovery,” the cop said.
The police commissioner, Aderemi Adeoye, urged water commuters to be safety conscious and avoid acts that may jeopardise their safety and that of others while travelling on water.
Mr Adeoye commended the command’s marine unit for their dedication. He said the police would conduct an investigation to ascertain the cause of the crash.
