Euro 2024: England beat Slovakia to book quarter-finals spot

England narrowly qualified for the quarter-finals on Sunday by defeating Slovakia 2-1 at the ongoing Euro 2024 tournament.
With Slovakia taking the lead 25 minutes into the game when Ivan Schranz buried the ball into goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s net, it took England much effort to secure a win.
Slovakia tenaciously defended their lone goal into 90 minutes. However, Jude Bellingham came to the rescue, netting an equaliser for England and restoring hope for the Three Lions.
Harry Kane headed home a winner for England a minute after Bellingham scored, saving the Three Lions from struggling for a win beyond 90 minutes.
England have now booked their spot in the quarter-finals and will be clashing with Switzerland. The Swiss defeated defending champions Italy on Saturday.
