I’ll reconsider seeking reelection if I have medical problem: Biden

A few days after insisting that only God could dissuade him from his reelection bid, U.S. President Joe Biden has indicated reconsidering his reelection bid if he has a medical problem.
In an interview with BET News aired on Wednesday, Mr Biden was asked what might lead him to reconsider his reelection ambitions.
“If I have some medical condition that emerged,” adding, “If somebody, if the doctors came to me and said you’ve got this problem, that problem,” Mr Biden said.
On Wednesday, Mr Biden tested positive for COVID-19 and has since entered isolation, suspending his campaign activities.
Following a lacklustre performance in the June presidential debate, Mr Biden has resisted increasing calls from within his party to withdraw from the November 5 election.
Concerns about Mr Biden’s cognitive acuity have been heightened by his incoherent statements and apparent confusion during the debate.
However, he has maintained that he is the most qualified candidate, insisting that only divine intervention could dissuade him from his reelection bid.
At the NATO summit, the 81-year-old president further fuelled criticisms of his cognitive decline after making embarrassing gaffes.
Mr Biden confused Vice-President Kamala Harris with his opponent, Donald Trump and mistook Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
