CDS Musa commends military collaboration in tackling national security challenges

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, has commended the armed forces for the high level of synergy between them.
This, he said, had resulted in numerous operational successes in various theatres of operation.
Mr Musa gave the commendation while being briefed at the Strategic Operations Centre, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Monday in Abuja.
This is contained in a statement by the director, public relations and information, NAF, AVM Edward Gabkwet.
He said the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) had recorded numerous operational successes against terrorists, insurgents, kidnappers and other criminal elements in the country.
The CDS also commended the AFN for the renewed efforts in the fight against oil theft in the Niger Delta region which, he said, was in line with the directive of President Bola Tinubu, toward ramping up oil production in the region.
He said that though the current security challenges were daunting, they remained surmountable as long as the armed forces continued to work together as a team.
He, however, called for continued collaboration and cooperation among the services and with other security agencies.
The CDS also emphasised the need for increased discipline among personnel, stressing that “all hands must be on deck” to achieve the desired results.
He gave assurance that he was fully committed to providing all necessary support to enable the NAF and other services rid the nation of all security challenges.
The defence chief commended the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, for his leadership, urging the NAF to maintain the momentum by working collaboratively with other services to ensure the security and stability.
“We must continue to enhance our synergy and intensify air operations to combat terrorists and other criminal elements, curbing their operational freedom and fostering favourable conditions for successful ground operations by our troops,” he said.
The CDS was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Training and Operations, Maj.-Gen. Emeka Onumajuru, and other staff officers.
