The management of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc. (PHED) on Friday, announced power disruptions in Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa states.

In a post on its official X handle, the PHED told its customer in Bayelsa that a vandalised tower caused the outage.

“Kindly note that the continuous outage currently experienced in Bayelsa State is as a result of vandalised 132kv towers,” said the power company.

In another post, the PHED told its customers in Akwa Ibom that their inability to deliver the contractual supply hours since Wednesday was due to a line fault.

“Kindly note that the current service shortfall experienced in all our Akwa Ibom State feeders, where we did not meet up with the contractual supply hours from the 14th and 15th of August, is due to a TCN outage (fault on Aba-Itu 132Kv line),” it explained.

Apologising to the affected customers in both states for the inconvenience caused, the PHED noted that work is underway to restore power.
