The Construction and Civil Engineering Senior Staff Association (CCESSA) is advocating for collaborative efforts to safeguard the health and well-being of construction workers across Nigeria.

The national president, Ayodeji Adeyemo, at the association’s special delegates’ conference in Abuja on Wednesday, emphasised the need for urgent government intervention to address the challenges faced by construction workers and Nigerians alike.

Mr Adeyemo stressed that the government must take immediate action to alleviate poverty, as many construction workers struggle to survive on meagre salaries.

He also called on the government to resolve longstanding issues between the Ministry of Works and the Federation of Construction Industry (FOCI) to prevent widespread job losses in the construction sector.

Mr Adeyemo further highlighted the need for enhanced security measures to protect construction workers from kidnapping and other safety threats.

He appealed to the federal government to intensify efforts to address insecurity nationwide.

Mr Adeyemo advised CCESSA members to prepare for life after retirement by prioritising their health, investments, and savings.

He also emphasised the importance of fostering strong relationships with colleagues and continuous professional development to stay adaptable in a rapidly changing, innovative, and technologically advanced work environment.
