Lawmaker organises free cataract screening, surgery for 350 Kwara residents

Tunji Olawoyin of the House of Representatives has announced his plans of treating no fewer than 350 Kwara South residents of the cataract ailment.
The member representing the Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency of Kwara disclosed this to journalists in Omu-Aran, headquarters of the Irepodun Local Government Area (LGA).
He said a two-day free cataract screening, selection and surgery intervention programme would take place for residents of the seven LGAs of Kwara South Senatorial District.
“This initiative is a testament to my commitment to ensuring that every individual, regardless of their socio-economic status, has access to quality healthcare.
“Our goal is to restore the gift of sight to those affected by cataracts, with a target of performing 350 free cataract surgeries.
“We urge all residents with cataract-related vision issues to attend the screening and take advantage of this life-changing opportunity.
“Our team of foreign specialists will provide professional care and support throughout the process,” the lawmaker said.
He added that the programme which would hold on Thursday and Friday in Omu-Aran, underscored his dedication to improving the health and well-being of Kwara South residents.
