Fire service rescues man trapped under collapsed Kano wall

The Kano State Fire Service on Sunday, rescued a worker, Sadiq Ahmad after a fence collapsed during a demolition at Kofar Mata Zango in the Kano Municipal Local Government Area.
This is contained in a statement by the service’s Public Relations Officer, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, who said that the incident happened on Sunday morning.
”We received an emergency call from one Naziru Ahmad at about 08:49 a.m that a fence had collapsed and firefighters from the service headquarters were immediately deployed to the scene.
“On arrival, they discovered that a residential building measuring about 30 by 20 feet was undergoing demolition,”he said.
Mr Abdullahi said that a worker was trapped beneath the collapsed fence while attempting to escape after the structure became unstable.
The PRO said that the victim was rescued alive and conveyed to the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano for medical attention, while investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
He urged residents and contractors to observe necessary safety precautions during demolition and construction activities to prevent similar occurrences.
