#EndSARS: Lagos businesses paralysed as protests enter third week
Businesses on Monday were paralysed in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, after protests against police brutality entered week three.
Workers and motorists on Monday were turned back across the state by protesters and roadblocks mounted in various parts of the state.
The Lekki-Epe Toll Gate and the alternative Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge were also shut down Monday morning, Peoples Gazette monitoring shows. Sangotedo-Epe Road towards Abraham Adesanya that links to Ogun State was also blocked.
Roads leading to the international and local airports have been barricaded by protesters.
Motorists going towards Apapa faced roadblocks in Surulere and Yaba end of Ikorodu Road; while Ikorodu township from Ketu, Ogolonto, Odogunyan have been occupied by protesters.
Lagos-Ibadan expressway is also not motorable as Magboro, Arepo, Berger and Magodo have been taken over by protesters.
Workers in Alausa had to turn back home while Ikeja Under Bridge, Oba Akran and Ogba were occupied.
Motorists on Badagri-Cotonou international road, Okokomaiko, Mile 2, Oshodi had to turn back to their various pickup points with protests across the routes.
Businesses along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway from the Kola and Ota were shut after protesters took to the streets Monday morning.
