NSCDC decorates 354 promoted officers in Osun

The Osun Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday decorated 354 officers who were recently promoted to the next ranks.
Speaking during the decoration ceremony in Osogbo, Michael Adaralewa, the corps state commandant, said the ranks came with higher responsibilities.
Mr Adaralewa urged the officers to continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism while discharging their duties.
“Lead by example by inspiring your subordinates and strive for excellence in all aspects of your duties. Remain vigilant and committed to the safety and security of the people of the state,” he said.
Mr Adaralewa encouraged officers who were not promoted not to be deterred in the discharge of their duties as expected.
He added that the promotion of the officers was a reminder that the corps values meritocracy and rewards for diligence and excellence.
“I charge the newly promoted officers to be more dedicated in their quest for a safer, more secure Osun State and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.
Mr Adaralewa also commended the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the corps commandant-general, Ahmed Audi, for their unwavering commitment to the welfare and progress of NSCDC personnel.
In his remarks, Governor Ademola Adeleke said the promotion of the officers was a call to higher and additional responsibilities.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Security, Samuel Ojo, Mr Adeleke urged the newly promoted officers to be honest and straightforward in discharging their duties.
The governor said his administration would continue to provide a conducive environment for security agencies to discharge their duties of providing adequate security.
John Akinworele John, deputy commandant, who spoke on behalf of the promoted officers, said the promotion was long-awaited.
Mr Akinworele said they would continue discharging their duties with integrity and professionalism.
