The Osun Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday decorated 354 officers who were recently promoted to the next ranks.
Speaking during the decoration ceremony in Osogbo, Michael Adaralewa, the corps state commandant, said the ranks came with higher responsibilities.
Mr Adaralewa urged the officers to continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism while discharging their duties.
“Lead by example by inspiring your subordinates and strive for excellence in all aspects of your duties. Remain vigilant and committed to the safety and security of the people of the state,” he said.
Mr Adaralewa encouraged officers who were not promoted not to be deterred in the discharge of their duties as expected.
He added that the promotion of the officers was a reminder that the corps values meritocracy and rewards for diligence and excellence.
“I charge the newly promoted officers to be more dedicated in their quest for a safer, more secure Osun State and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.
Mr Adaralewa also commended the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the corps commandant-general, Ahmed Audi, for their unwavering commitment to the welfare and progress of NSCDC personnel.
