The police on Thursday arraigned a 48-year-old civil servant, Sunny Ubi, in a Senior magistrates` court, Karu, Abuja for alleged criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The defendant was charged with criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal misappropriation.
He, however, denied committing the offence.

According to Adeyanju, the complainant on August 3 entrusted the sum of N148,000 to the defendant to assist him in renting a self-contained apartment.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 312, 322 and 309 of the Penal Code.
The Magistrate, Inna Shettima admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one surety in like sum.
She ordered that the sureties must reside in a verifiable address within the jurisdiction of the court and adjourned the case until November 20, for hearing.
