Why PDP will win Anambra governorship election: Bayelsa Deputy Governor

The deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has given reasons he thinks the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is in line to win the Anambra gubernatorial election billed for November 6, 2021.
Sixteen governorship aspirants are jostling to fly the PDP ticket in the election.
Mr Ewhrudjakpo chaired the committee which conducted the election of local government delegates for the PDP primaries in the state. The delegates would be responsible for electing the party’s gubernatorial candidate.
The delegates were elected in a peaceful, free and fair manner under the supervision of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr Ewhrudjakpo said via a statement released by his spokesman, Doubara Atasi, on Friday in Yenagoa.
The deputy governor said that 21 delegates were elected in the process, and additional 21 physically challenged persons representing the 21 local government areas of the state were also chosen.
He stressed that the party had what it takes to win the November 6, election.
“It has been a very successful exercise. As you can see, there is no protest going on. Everywhere is peaceful and calm. So we have successfully completed the exercise, which was witnessed by INEC,” Mr Ewhrudjakpo said as he fancies his party’s chances.
“Members of our party have freely elected 21 delegates of their choice and also 21 physically challenged persons to represent those who are going to participate in the primaries.
“We believe we will come back to conduct the full primaries and thereafter we shall all be on ground to support our candidate and party to win the 2021 Anambra governorship election.”
The deputy governor said PDP has the wherewithal to win because all the walls of division that made the party not to win the state in the past are being broken.
“We strongly believe Anambra is for PDP to win considering what we have been able to do over the years,’’ Ewhrudjakpo said.
He gave assurance that whoever emerged as its flag bearer would be given the needed support with a view to winning the election.
