Amid ongoing conflict, the Sudanese government has called on the African Union, United Nations, and Arab League to support its roadmap for restoring peace and stability.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan made the call in a statement on Monday.

The statement outlined a post-war roadmap proposed by the Sudanese people, which includes an inclusive political process leading to free and fair general elections.

The ministry emphasised that the roadmap reflected a national consensus aimed at restoring peace and stability, and fulfilling the democratic transition.

The Sudanese government stated that no ceasefire would be accepted unless the siege on El Fasher was lifted and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia withdrew from Khartoum, West Kordofan, and Darfur states.

The ministry highlighted the steady progress of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Joint Forces on various war fronts, with full backing from the Sudanese people.

“The roadmap calls for an all-inclusive national dialogue involving political and societal components, welcoming all those who adopt a patriotic stance and reject aggression.

“It also proposes forming a cabinet of independent technocrats to resume transitional duties and address the war’s aftermath.

“Amendments to the Constitutional Document will be made and endorsed by national and societal forces, followed by the nomination of a civilian Prime Minister to lead the executive branch without interference,” the ministry said.

The ministry affirmed the importance of political freedom and the right to obtain passports for all citizens while also setting clear conditions for talks with rebels, including disarming and evacuating civilian areas.
