Edo’s IGR soared under Gov. Okpebholo’s leadership: EIRS Boss

The EIRS’ board chair attributed the achievement to the visionary leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo since assuming office in November.

The Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) has reported an internally generated revenue (IGR) of N10.4 billion for January.

The chairman of the revenue board, Oladele Bankole-Balogun, announced this in a statement by the EIRS’ spokesperson, Courage Eboigbe, on Monday in Benin.

Mr Bankole-Balogun attributed this achievement to the visionary leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo since assuming office in November.

“In just 100 days, Governor Okpebholo’s leadership has enabled the EIRS to achieve an all-time revenue milestone, offering reassurance to the people that their future is bright and secure,” he said.

He said the governor was revitalising critical infrastructure at an unprecedented pace, ensuring security, and creating tangible change for Edo citizens.

“The governor is transforming his promises into reality under strong leadership, ” he said.

He said Mr Okpebholo’s leadership has defied critics and rejuvenated Edo with practical governance, road development, and improved security.

“In spite of scepticism, Edo has regained hope with new roads, rehabilitated infrastructure, and a bolstered security system,” he said.

He commended the governor for revitalising critical infrastructure with unprecedented speed, ensuring security, and creating tangible change for Edo citizens

“The governor is transforming his promises into reality under strong leadership,” he said.
