Benjamin Kalu, deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, has urged the South-East Development Commission to embrace partnership and collaboration over politics for SEDC’s success.

Mr Kalu gave the charge in Enugu at a stakeholders’ engagement and reception by Arthur Eze for the board of the SEDC, according to a statement on Monday by the deputy speaker’s spokesman, Levinus Nwabughiogu.

Mr Kalu urged the SEDC management to prioritise collective effort driven by the values of hard work, integrity, and communal progress.

He noted that SEDC’s ultimate goal was to drive growth and development in the South-East region.

The deputy speaker noted that this was not the time for division but for alignment.

Mr Kalu also urged the SEDC board and the management team to utilise allocated funds wisely, ensuring transparency and executing projects that positively impact ordinary people.

He, however, expressed gratitude to his colleagues as well as President Bola Tinubu for signing the bill that established the SEDC.
