Nasarawa speaker tasks women on national development 

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has called on Nigerian women to continue to contribute positively to the development of the country

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has called on Nigerian women to continue to contribute positively to the development of the country.

Mr Jatau, who represents Kokona West constituency, made the call at the annual convention of Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), Women Wing, on Sunday in Nassarawa Eggon LGA.

The convention has the theme “Celebrating 25 Years of Community Service of Eggon Kyenkyen Primary School, Nassarawa Eggon”.

The programme was to raise funds for the development of the school.

Mr Jatau said that women play significant roles in the development of any society.

He commended the women wing of ECDA for the annual convention and for promoting the Eggon culture and urged them not to relent.

“I urge you to continue to promote your culture in the interest of peace and unity,” he said.

The speaker also urged other citizens of the state to continue to show love and live in unity and peace for the overall development of the state.

He enjoined them to continue to pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.

Mr Jatau later donated the sum of  N1 million as part of his support for the development of the association and the school.

Earlier,  Rose Attah, the president of ECDA Women Wing, said that the event was organised to promote unity and peace among members of the association.

She said it was also to celebrate 25 years of Eggon Kyenkyen Primary School, Nassarawa Eggon as well as to  raise funds for the development of the school.

Ms Attah appealed to all the stakeholders and other dignitaries to donate positively to the growth of the school and the association.

The event featured N25 million fund fundraising for the construction of a modern library, classrooms and unveiling of traditional dishes.
