The Federal Road Safety Corps, Zamfara State Command, said it deployed 526 officials, 13 operational vehicles and two ambulances for a hitch-free Easter celebration in the state.

This is contained in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Isah Aliyu to journalists in Gusau on Thursday.

Mr Aliyu said that the command and its component units have made necessary arrangements to conduct special patrol and traffic control during the festivity.

He said that considering increased motorists’ activities during the period, there was a special patrol and traffic control design to curtail possible road crashes.

Aliyu said that a total of 526 officials including regular and special marshals were deployed at strategic places for effective traffic control.

He said that ambulances and other operational vehicles would be on standby 247, for quick responses in the event of any eventuality to rescue victims.

He added that a tow truck had been provided for clearance in case of road blockage while more officials were deployed, along other security operatives, for intelligent gathering and sharing.

The PPRO noted that while the regular marshals would engage on effective patrol, 46 special marshals would be deployed along other stakeholders to sensitise and educate motorist and other road users to a safe driving environment.

He added that the command would equally maintain a daily spot assessment of activities during the period.
