Southern Kaduna traditional rulers unite for peace, development

Traditional rulers from the south of Kaduna have held a meeting aimed at fostering peace and unity.
The meeting was convened in Kafanchan by the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association in collaboration with chief imams from the zone.
SKCLA chairman, Emmanuel Kure, said the gathering was a proactive initiative to consolidate on the relative peace recorded in recent years and to chart a new course for the future of the zone.
Mr Kure noted that the clerics of Southern Kaduna were deeply concerned about the changing times and the potential risks facing the area if its leaders and people fail to rise above past divisions.
Speaking on behalf of other traditional leaders, the emir of Jama’a, Muhammadu Muhammadu II and the chief of Kagoro, Ufuwai Bonnet, welcomed the initiative and pledged their support.
They described the gathering as timely and necessary for the survival and progress of Southern Kaduna.
They also lauded the religious leaders for taking bold steps to bring traditional rulers together, regardless of ethnic or religious differences, to pursue a shared vision of peace, unity, and development.
The meeting is widely seen as a pivotal step toward fostering inter-ethnic and religious dialogue among the traditional institutions in the zone, with the ultimate goal of securing a peaceful and prosperous future for Southern Kaduna.
