2027: Katsina lawmakers endorse Gov. Radda for second term

The 34 members of the Katsina State House of Assembly have endorsed Governor Dikko Radda for re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The House speaker, Nasir Yahaya-Daura, made their decision known during a press briefing on Saturday in Katsina.
According to the speaker, the lawmakers had unanimously resolved to endorse Mr Radda for a second term in office.
He said, “I am honoured to announce that the 34 members of the assembly, after extensive deliberations and consultations, have unanimously resolved to endorse Radda for a second term in office.
“Furthermore, we have resolved to purchase his nomination form when the time comes in 2027 as a testament to our full support; this decision was not taken lightly.”
Mr Yahaya-Daura explained that it was a product of careful assessment, grassroots feedback and their collective belief in Mr Radda’s leadership.
He highlighted some of the governor’s achievements that informed their decision as significant improvements in the security situation.
According to him, the governor has demonstrated exceptional commitment to securing the state, especially with the creation of the Community Watch Corps.
He said the security outfit was a grassroots initiative that had significantly complemented the efforts of the conventional security agencies.
“Under the visionary leadership of Governor Radda, our state had undergone a remarkable agricultural transformation, reclaiming its rightful position as the agricultural powerhouse of Northern Nigeria.
“The healthcare sector had also witnessed remarkable improvements under Radda’s leadership.
“The education sector had benefited from Radda’s visionary leadership through the rehabilitation of over 200 schools across the state, among other numerous achievements,” the speaker said.
Mr Yahaya-Daura reeled out various achievements of the governor in different sectors, which he said gave them the confidence and trust to endorse him to go for the second time.
