UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea have signed their teenage prodigy Armando Broja to a fresh five-year deal.

Broja,19, who had just returned from the  Eredivisie after a loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem, where he scored 11 goals in 34 appearances, is expected to remain at the club till 2026.

“The young striker, who will turn 20 in September, spent last season on loan in the Eredivisie with Vitesse Arnhem, where he made 34 appearances.

His 11 goals helped the Dutch side to a fourth-place finish and the final of the KNVB Cup, in which they were beaten by Ajax, and ensured he finished the campaign as one of the top-scoring teenagers in Europe,” the club statement announcing the deal read.

“Prior to that maiden loan move, the Albanian international made his senior Chelsea debut in March 2020, coming off the bench in a Premier League encounter with Everton that proved to be our last action before football’s suspension due to Covid-19.

“Broja has been on the books with the Blues since the end of his Under-9 season, always playing as an attacker and scoring goals throughout his rise up the ranks at Cobham,” the statement further read.

Broja expressed excitement about his new deal saying he is looking forward to progressing and making impact at the Stamford bridge in the years to come.

‘’I am really excited to be signing a new contract with Chelsea.

Having come through the Academy here it was a special moment for me to make my first-team debut last year, before gaining further experience on loan at Vitesse last season.

I want to build on these foundations and I am really looking forward to progressing and making an impact at Chelsea in the years to come,” Broja said.
