Four family members in court for allegedly obstructing building construction

Four family members: Saheed Adedoyin, 42, Sikiru Adedoyin, 26, Shakirat Adedoyin, 46 and Alimat Adedoyin, 37, on Monday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, over an alleged misconduct.
The four were charged with conspiracy and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace, to which they pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP Foluke Adedosu told the court that the defendants committed the offence on July 1, at about 11.00 a.m, at Ogunpa area of Ibadan.
Adedosu alleged that the defendants misconducted themselves by preventing one Azeez Ismaila and his workers from commencing construction work on a building he leased from the Adedoyin ‘s family.
“The Adedoyin ‘s family leased the building to Ismaila for 40 years but broke the agreement by disrupting him from working on it,” she said.
She stated that the offences contravened Sections 516 and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, A.T. Oyediji, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200, 000 each and two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until September 23, for hearing.
