Burna Boy performs for England’s women’s team at Euro 2025 celebration

Grammy-winning Afro-fusion singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, performed at the England Women’s Euro trophy parade at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.
The Lionesses of England claimed victory in the European Championships for the second time over the weekend in Basel, Switzerland.
The “No Sign of Weakness” crooner shocked the Lionesses with his surprise appearance shortly after the team secured a historic win over Spain’s national women’s team. The intense final ended in a draw after extra time, with England sealing victory in a dramatic penalty shootout thanks to standout player Chloe Kelly, who calmly slotted home the winning kick.
The moment took a surprising turn when Burna Boy hit the stage for an unannounced performance that left England manager Sarina Wiegman visibly stunned. He was brought out by former England international Alex Scott, who reminded Wiegman of her words three years ago at Trafalgar Square when she joked that she wasn’t ready to dance because the music wasn’t right.
Scott then teased the crowd: “We know who your favourite artist is; he’s in the building, so we want to see you dance. Please give it up for Sarina’s favourite artiste… Burna Boy!”
Wiegman, who’s been in charge of the Lionesses since 2021, couldn’t believe it. “Oh, no way,” she shouted as Burna stepped on stage. The two shared a fun moment, dancing and singing along to his 2022 hit “For My Hand” featuring Ed Sheeran, off the Love, Damini album.
Back in 2023, Wiegman revealed she was a huge Burna Boy fan, saying the song had been on repeat for her even if she didn’t remember the exact title.
The performance added to the emotions of the day, as England’s win over Spain wasn’t just historic for the women’s team; it also marked the first time any England side, male or female, had won a major tournament outside of home soil.
