Bernard Alkali, chairman of Mikang Local Government Area (LGA), has donated various Toyota vehicles to five of his appointees.

He also presented 30 motorcycles to different departments within the LGA and several security agencies.

The presentation ceremony took place on Friday in Tunkus, the headquarters of the LGA.

Speaking at the event, Mr Alkali said the donations were aimed at enhancing the efficiency and performance of government officials.

He added that the initiative was part of efforts to reposition the LGA for steady growth and development.

“We are here to serve the people; they gave us their mandate, and we will not take it lightly.

“This is part of our commitment to a better and prosperous Mikang.

“This is just the beginning. With the support and prayers of our people, we will do more,” he stated.

Mr Alkali also expressed gratitude to Gov. Caleb Mutfwang for the timely release of funds to the state’s 17 LGAs and promised to manage resources with prudence and accountability.

Also speaking, Ephraim Usman, the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, lauded Mr Alkali for his significant efforts.

He commended the chairman for aligning with the governor’s vision and advancing Mikang towards progress.

Mr Usman assured the people of the area that the Mutfwang-led administration would continue to deliver dividends of democracy across the state.

Mr Alkali also donated 1,100 bags of maize and 700 bags of millet to less privileged individuals and families across the 18 electoral wards of the LGA.
