ATBUTH unveils digital app to enhance healthcare service delivery
The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, has unveiled a DHS mobile app to enhance healthcare service delivery. The hospital management deployed the app to the amenity and retainership partner units to strengthen digital healthcare delivery.
Yusuf Jibrin, ABUTH’s chief medical director, said this in a statement on Tuesday. He said that the initiative was a major step in its drive toward a fully digital and patient-centred healthcare system.
Mr Jibrin said the digital app would enable patients to book appointments, make electronic payments, receive prescriptions, set medication reminders, and communicate directly with hospital support personnel.
“The app will eliminate physical queues at registration and payment points, and complement the recently introduced DHS SmartQueue System.
“The DHS system improves patient flow, reduces congestion in clinics, shortens waiting times and enhances the overall patient experience,” Mr Jibrin said in the statement.
Mr Jibrin reaffirmed the commitment to deploying innovative technologies to improve efficiency and simplify access to timely, quality healthcare services. He urged the amenity, retainership partners, and other users of the hospital’s services to embrace the platform.
Mr Jibrin expressed optimism that the platform would further strengthen service delivery and improve patients’ overall healthcare experience.
The unveiling was attended by representatives of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), among others.
