Beijing builds largest mall near universal resort

Beijing has completed construction of its largest commercial outlet complex, the “Well Town” project, located near the Universal Beijing Resort.
The development is expected to open by late 2025, according to Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd.
With a total investment exceeding ¥10 billion (about $1.4 billion), Well Town spans roughly 500,000 square metres and consists of three main components: the Nous Land Hotel, the Wangfujing Outlet, and Tingyun Town.
Liao Chenbin, a BUCG project manager, said the Nous Land Hotel will feature over 300 guest rooms, a rooftop restaurant, and an infinity pool offering views of the Universal resort. The hotel is currently undergoing interior decoration.
The Wangfujing Outlet will cover about 170,000 square metres and host more than 500 well-known domestic and international brands.
The outlet mall’s occupancy rate has already exceeded 90 per cent, with cultural, artistic, and sports-related businesses making up a significant portion.
Entertainment and children’s recreation outlets account for 50 per cent of the retail mix.
Tingyun Town will include a commercial street, an accommodation area, and a themed park based on The Little Prince, the beloved French novella.
Mr Liao said the complex aims to boost consumer activity and serve as a trendy social hub for young urbanites.
Situated in the Beijing Municipal Administrative Centre in the eastern part of the city, Well Town will be accessible via subway once operations begin.
The project was jointly developed by Beijing Infrastructure Investment Co., Ltd., Beijing Tourism Group, and BUCG.
