Police arraign man, 25, for allegedly stealing aluminium windows worth N200,000

The police in Lagos on Monday arraigned a 25-year-old man, Toheeb Musbau, at the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court over the alleged theft of aluminium windows valued at N200,000.
The defendant, whose address is unknown, is charged with felony and stealing but pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 15, at about 2:00 p.m., at Amunipe Str., Ibiye, Badagry, Lagos.
Mr Ekpo alleged that the defendant conspired with others to commit a felony, to wit, stealing.
“The defendant stole aluminium windows valued at N200,000, property of one Lapa Muritala, the complainant. He was arrested and handed over to police for prosecution,” he said.
According to Mr Ekpo, the offences contravene the provisions of Sections 409 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015.
The chief magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, granted the defendant bail of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, adding that one of the sureties must be self-employed.
Mr Layeni adjourned the case until September 24 for mention.
