Residents of Adesan and Abaren communities in Mowe, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun state,  have commended Gov. Dapo Abiodun for reconstructing the dilapidated Adesan-Abaren road.

In separate interviews with journalists on Saturday in Mowe, the residents expressed satisfaction on the quality of job done by the contractor handling the project.

They, however, called for the speedy completion of the road, which would terminate at the Abaren end.

Johnson Adetide, a 50-year-old civil servant, noted that the previous administration had reneged on its decades-old promise to fix the road.

Mr Adetide applauded Mr Abiodun for deeming it fit to come to the aid of the masses, saying that fixing of the road would boost economic activities.

He also gave kudos to the lawmaker representing the Obafemi Owode constituency at the State House of Assembly, Damilola Soneye, for consistently emphasising the importance of fixing the road during plenary sessions.

“The only thing we can do is to pray and keep praying for the governor for what he has done for us. He has wiped away our tears and ease our burden on the road,” he said.

A food vendor in Abaren, Ruth Babalola, appreciated the state government for bringing dividends of democracy to the doorstep of the masses.

“I am grateful to the government. What we have been praying for, is infrastructural development and electricity which remains a factor for development

“I have lived in Abaren for five years. The governor is here to make us happy. He has fixed the road to Adesan axis. I want to beg the governor to ensure that the contractors are mobilised to complete the road to Abaren axis.

“People are now trooping in to complete their abandoned houses because of the progress in the road construction,” she said.

Bode Are, a landlord in the area said: “This road was extremely bad; very bad, especially during the rainy seasons.

“The people of Adesan are now praying for the governor. They can now go out with their cars without fear during raining season.

“We in Abaren axis of the road are also praying for the governor so that there will not be hindrances before the construction gets to Abaren.

“The construction of the road to Adesan axis, close to the only public secondary school and the primary health center on Adesan-Abaren, has really eased the burden on the people,” he said.

Mr Soneye appreciated the governor for fulfilling his electoral promise.

Mr Soneye explained that the governor would continue to bring dividends of democracy to every nook and cranny of the state, while also pledging a strong representation for his constituency.
